1 Chro 4:9-10, are just two verses but very powerful. Verse 9 said Jabez was honourable but he knew that he was not fulfilling potentials, so he has to cry to God almighty to bless him and enlarge his coast and God granted him his request.

Before we pray, let’s look at some few basic things from these two verses of the scripture.

There is power in spoken words, for life and death are in the power of the tongue(Prov 18:21). Our words can build others up or tear them down.
Jabez mother must have been saying it in his ears as he was growing up, even when he grew up, I bare you in sorrow (we don’t know what was happing to her then, but she was in sorrow).
Even though Jabez was honourable, i.e principled, moral, righteous, ethical, upright, honest and decent yet he was a man of sorrows because he was not fulfilling potentials because of what he was hearing, so we need to be very careful before we pronounce a word over anyone to define them.
Thank God for sound mind for Jabez that made him to cried to God for assistance. (Compare to Ichabod; 1 Sam 2)

1. Jabez realised that he’s not who his mother has been calling him, he changed his mindset and call upon God of heaven and the earth.
2. He acknowledges that all blessing comes from God and it is the blessing of God that makes rich and added no sorrow -Prov 10:22 (Bless me indeed)
3. He ask God to make him a channel of blessing not just only to bless him. (Enlarge my coast)
4. He ask for guidance and direction (That your hand to be with me)
5. He ask for protection from evil and sorrow (That you keep me from evil)

Prayer Points

1. Bless and praise the king of kings. Psalm 34:1
2. Thank Him because the thoughts that He has towards you and I are not the thoughts of evil. Jer. 29:11
3. Thank Him because He’s the one that gives power to will and to do of His good pleasure. Phil 2:13
4. Father, forgive me in anyway that I have put limitation upon myself and deliver me from every experience of the past that are not allowing me to move forward.
5. Father, create in me a new heart and renew a right spirit within me.
6. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, I reverse ever negative words that has been spoken into the element of nature that is now hindering or not allow me to enter into my blessing and my glory.
7. Father, enlarge my coast, my territory, increase my capacity in every area of my life, capacity to be a blessing, capacity to pray more, capacity to be your ambassador, capacity to reach the less privilege, increase capacity in anointing, capacity to fufil, capacity to win more souls into your kingdom, capacity to be terror to the kingdom of darkness, etc
8. Father, let me find joy, love peace, rest, direction, favour and strength in your presence
9. Father, protect me and keep me from evil, keep my family from evil, keep my marriage from evil etc
10. Thank you father for you can do exceedingly far above what i can ask or what I can imagine.
